Samantha with her husband Chris
307: Where are you from? Tell us a little bit more about yourself and your background.
Samantha: I am originally from Clinton County, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in telecommunications and minor in business and Spanish. After college, I went into radio broadcasting for a few years before moving into human resources. I loved HR because I love serving people and building relationships, and I am excited to bring those experiences into real estate. My husband and I moved to Buffalo with our cat Nugget when he got his dream job of working as the Executive Director of The Wildlife Fund earlier this year.
307: How did you get interested in real estate?
Samantha: I first heard about working in the industry when I had a mentor at the radio station who did real estate on the side and who encouraged me to play around with the idea of going into real estate. While chose not to pursue it at the time, I kept it in the back of my mind. When we moved to Wyoming, we knew Mark Wilson (fellow 307 agent) as a friend, and he reintroduced me to the idea of working in real estate.
Since moving to Buffalo, I have been working at the golf course, and it’s been an amazing way to meet people in the community. I’ve been getting to know the Wyoming culture which I love, and real estate is a great way to expand on that.
307: What excites you most about the real estate process?
Samantha: I truly love doing things that are of service to others. Buying or selling a house is one of the biggest events in someone’s life and I feel honored to be a part of that process. So often, when people move to Wyoming it is to look for their dream home, and the thought of helping someone realize their dream is so rewarding. Going home and knowing that I helped someone through this huge milestone in their life is something that I am so excited about.
307: Why Wyoming and why 307 Real Estate?
Samantha: I think that having moved to Wyoming within the last year is something that will really help me when guiding people through the real estate process. I love and respect the Wyoming culture and while I hope that it’s not obvious I’m not from here, I hope that my excitement about this amazing area is contagious to buyers and sellers. People are moving here right and left, and I want to be able to show them all the great things about the Buffalo community and all that it has to offer.
307 Real Estate has been a great fit for me. I love that 307 operates as a team, and from the very beginning, I have felt supported by all the other agents in the office. It truly is a team effort, and everyone helps everyone else out which is great.
307: What are some of the activities you have gotten into since moving to Wyoming?
Samantha: I love to run but since moving to Wyoming I have started to hike and take things to the next level. I’ve gained a bunch of new hobbies like learning to fly fish, going overnight camping, learning to golf and so much more. I’m excited to share these great things with people looking to move to Wyoming.
We are so excited to welcome Samantha to the 307 Real Estate team and to our Buffalo office! If you are looking to get in touch with her, you can give her a call at 765-404-5190 or email her at smcbarnes@weare307.com.
