Tell us a little more about your background…
I was raised in Cody, Wyoming and graduated from Cody High School, so Cody and the state of Wyoming truly are home to me. I attended college at Michigan State University where I majored in social relations and policy. I think that this really helped me better understand people, social justice issues and how we relate to each other in society. It really helped me learn how to be a more empathic and compassionate person which I am excited to bring to the real estate process. In any real estate transaction, you need to be able to see things from your client’s perspective and also focus on relationship building with your clients and other business partners in the process.
Before joining 307, I have worked in a number of customer service roles including various restaurants in Cody and in retail at Sunlight Sports. I have also done administrative work, been a legal assistant and a teacher in special education and at Little Explorers Preschool.
How do you think your previous work experiences will help you in real estate?
In starting my real estate career, I really want to draw on my teaching experience. I am looking to be an educator as people are buying their first home, their second home, their vacation home – or in whatever stage of life they are going through. When people relocate to Wyoming, it can be stressful to move to a new town. In knowing this town so well from my different experiences, I really feel like I can authentically sell Cody and the community here.
Why Cody & Why Wyoming?
After deciding to go to school out of state and traveling abroad, I appreciated Cody even more when I came home to it. We live in this unmatched natural splendor, yet it is this safe, quiet and unique town.
It is a great place to raise a family, and I love taking advantage of getting outside to recreate and go mountain biking as much as I can. Wyoming as a state is unique in that we have so much public land and so many natural places. It really is the true American west and there’s no other place you really get that.
We are only an hour from Yellowstone, and so often even in town, you can wake up with wildlife in your backyard. I love that Cody is a bustling tourist destination and all of the activity that it brings to the area.
Do you feel like you have an ideal client or a client to whom you can relate to most?
I feel like I can really relate to everyone. I shine with people that tend to be more timid and may think that they are not able to buy a home. I love to empower first-time homebuyers, or anyone looking to buy or sell their next property. I can be that calm focused presence for them as they go through the real estate process.
I am a clear communicator, and I want to make sure that people know they can rely on me to help them navigate the process. This business is not just about selling a house, it’s about selling a life, selling a home.
What made you want to get into real estate?
Real estate has always been an interest and a passion of mine. For awhile now, I’ve been looking at Zillow and following the market nationally and in Cody. My long-term goal is to have a number of real estate investments which I think will also help me become a better agent.
I find the process of looking at homes really enjoyable. My husband, Gabe, worked in commercial appraising, and I feel like I got a little taste of part of the real estate process. I also love home improvement shows and helping clients envision what their new home could be like.
Why 307 Real Estate?
307 Real Estate represents top notch real estate sales in terms of not only buying and selling but also in customer service. I love everyone in the office and feel that everyone works so well as a team. John Parsons was our real estate agent in our last two real estate transactions, and so I felt like I could trust him when learning about the process. John is a great and willing mentor and wants to see me be successful which means a lot.
